THEATER MU ANNOUNCES ANNUAL HOLIDAY CABARET SHOW
A VERY ASIAN XMAS: THE NOT-CRACKER
AS THE OPENING OFFERING IN ITS 2018/19 SEASON, BEING EXTRAORDINARY

(Minneapolis/Saint Paul) – Theater Mu’s annual holiday cabaret-style show, A VERY ASIAN XMAS, celebrates its ninth year by returning to North Garden Theatre for two performances on Saturday, November 24th at 6:00pm and 9:00pm. This year’s show, titled THE NOT-CRACKER, features live performances, comedic drama, and holiday skits as Jasmine turns the classic holiday ballet into a frolicking cabaret.

Theater Mu’s Artistic Director, Randy Reyes, has this to say about the show and Jasmine:

“After the great success of last year’s A Very Asian Xmas…Carol, I’m excited about what Jasmine is going to do with The Not-Cracker.  Jasmine has always dreamed of being the Sugar Plum Fairy, so I’m sure she’ll gather her amazingly talented friends to help fulfill her greatest fantasy. Rest assured that this will be a holiday cabaret extravaganza and not a ballet. Jasmine can barely walk in heels, so pointe shoes are completely out of the question!”

SO WHO IS JASMINE?

For the past nine years, Jasmine has been dazzling Theater Mu audiences with her charm, humor, and fabulosity. From an outsider’s perspective, she is Randy Reyes’ sister who steals the spotlight once every holiday season. However, Theater Mu regulars know that it’s really Reyes underneath that wig, dress, and all that eye shadow.

Jasmine will be joined by some of the Twin Cities’ favorite musical artists for an adult retelling of The Nutcracker. The night will be and has always been both a holiday tradition and extravaganza.
