Mu Performing Arts welcomes the return of artist Sun Mee Chomet with The Sex Show. This edgy world premiere is a movement-theater piece directed by Chomet in collaboration with phenomenal Twin Cities' Asian American artists.  The Sex Show dives into the heart of stereotypes and sexuality, exploring Asian American identity in surprising and thought-provoking ways.  The play encourages community engagement through an open and lively discussion of a taboo subject.  Chomet's award-winning play Asiamamnesia was produced by Mu Performing Arts in 2008 (correct date?).  The Sex Show is made possible by a generous grant from The Knight Arts Foundation.
This season premiers Theater Mu’s experimental Pay As You Are pricing. Mu strives to voice the stories of the Asian American community, and in order to bring performances to those communities whose stories they tell, Mu is committed to make them as accessible as possible. Pay As You Are pricing asks those who routinely pay $35-$40 for theater tickets to choose to pay that; it is the actual fair market value of the ticket. If an audience member needs to pay less, they can choose to pay less - as little as $5 per ticket. The minimum for the season subscription that includes the four mainstage shows is $50, with fair market value for the package at $100.
